How do I know if a SIBO test is right for me?

What's the difference between hydrogen and methane SIBO?

Hydrogen SIBO is more often associated with diarrhoea and a bloated feeling. Methane SIBO (officially IMO) is more often linked to constipation and slow transit. The type partly determines which treatment is logical.

Why don't you sell a ready-made package?

By choice. Large €1,500 packages create a high entry threshold and often don't fit what a specific patient actually needs. By splitting the pathway you only pay for what truly proves necessary after each phase.

Do I need a referral from my GP?

Accepted Answer

No, you don't need a referral to order a SIBO test or book a consultation. Where useful, we are happy to collaborate with your GP or treating physician.

How long does a full pathway take?

Accepted Answer

This varies greatly per person. An average pathway from diagnosis to relapse prevention takes 4 to 9 months, depending on the type of SIBO, severity, underlying causes and how your body responds to treatment.

Is this reimbursed by my health insurance?

That depends on your insurer and country. We always provide a detailed invoice that you can submit. Many supplementary insurances offer partial reimbursement.
